PASSING OILY STOOL

It was a horrible experience. Imagine I lost 12 kg within three months.
It was caused by side-effect of medication prescribed by specialist hospital. I was not given any medication to stop the passing of oily stool. Was advised to let your body adjust by itself.
Another private clinic doctor advised me to take yoghurt and I even seek treatment from traditional Chinese medical doctors.
I was desperate. Whatever you consumed you will see the oil floating when you passed stool.
With the blessing I was fortunate to meet Dr Ngawang Thupten (Sakya) who is expert in Tibetan Traditional medicine from India. He gave me some home-made tablets to consume. According to him, the medicine was made from 15 ingredients (7 kinds of salts + 8 different herds).
It was incredible and cannot imagine my passing of oily stool stopped after my first tablet of medicine. After three days I was back to normal and now I have gained back my weight.
My many many thanks to Dr Ngawang Thupten who is also a monk and Geshi from North-East of India.

RACIAL HARMONY IN SABAH & SARAWAK

Malaysian from Semenanjung Malaysia have a lot to learn from Sabah and Sarawak as far as racial harmony is concerned.
I stayed in Sabah for 4 years and 7 years in Sarawak. You hardly see race and religion issues highlighted in their local media. Whether you are Iban, Kadazan, Murut, Bajau, Chinese or Malay, they got on their lives well . Race and religion were never an issue.
In one occassion in the year 1987 in Sabah, I met one Dato Jaafar at Chinese New Year open house. I was introduced to him & we sat at the main table. Being brought up in Semenanjung living environment, I felt uneasy as many dishes on the table were 'non-halal' and I hinted to my Sabah Chinese friend.
Dato Jaafar heard the conversation and he jokingly told me that I was in Sabah and not in Semenanjung Malaysia. He mentioned that he would only go for the halal dish on the table and its never an issue.
According to Dato Jaafar, he represented Sabah to be one of the signatory in the Declaration of Formation of Malaysia. Unfortunately, he was dissappointed that he was no more invited to attend any Hari Kemerdekaan celebration.
Politicians from Semenanjung Malaysia should make an attempt to visit Sabah and Sarawak more often and learn from them ways to improve racial harmony.

DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

Extract from "Simply This Moment" by Ajahn Brahm

A couple wanted to see the President of Harward University without any appointment. The secretary was not impressed by their ordinary dress and felt they didn't deserve to be there.

"We want to see the President," the man said softly.

"He'll be busy all day" said the secretary and ignored them for hours. She thought the couple would become discouraged and go away. But they didn't. The secretary was forced to inform the President who went to meet the couple.

The lady told him," we had a son who attended Harvard for one year. He loved Harvard and he was happy here but about a year ago he was accidentally killed. So my husband & I would like to erect a memorial to him, somewhere in the campus."

The President wasn't touched, he was shocked and said, "Madam, we can't put a statue to everyone who attended Harvard and died. If we do that, the place would look like a cementary."

"Oh, no," the lady explained quickly, "we didn't want to erect statue. W thought we would like to give a building to Harvard."

The President rolled his eyes & looked at their dresses and exclaimed, " A building ! Do you know how much it costs? It's about 7.5 million dollars in plant at Harvard."

For a moment the lady was silent. The President was pleased and felt he could get rid of them now.

The lady turned to her husband & said quietly, " if that is all it costs to start a university, why don't we just start our own." Her husband nodded.

The couple, Mr & Mrs Standford walked away and established a university known as Standford University that bears their name, a memorial to a son that Harvard no longer cared about.

THANKS AND NO THANKS TO BN GOVERNMENT OF MALAYSIA

For the last 30 years BN government has implemented unfair practice in its recruitment policy. Many non-bumiputras applicants were disappointed not able to serve in public sector.

Consequently, many non-bumiputras had no alternative but found its way to serve in private sector, assisted in parents/relatives business or became hawkers and workers in all industries. Many of them had gone through tough life and fought very hard for survival.

Surprisingly, years later, many of them became successful businessmen and their standard of living were very much higher than those managed or lucky to be given opportunity to serve in public sectors.

Therefore, with hindsight many of them should thank the government for rejecting them to join public sector and this indirectly gave them the spirit to fight hard to achieve their goals. Besides, jobs in private sector were more challenging and rewarding.

Datuk Seri Najib, Prime Minister of present BN government should re-examine recruitment policy whether it is still relevant and applicable. We are all 1Malaysia & sincerely hope to see more Bumiputra businessmen who are successful and able to compete with their own effort.

Spoon-fed people never grow up to be independent and with fighting spirit.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY 父亲节快乐

CURE FOR PILES OR HAEMORRHOIDS

"YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT"

" 病从口入 "

This is what I found out in 1990 when I was serving in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

I was posted to serve in Kuching with effect from 1st January, 1990. My main function was to manage the operations of computer main frame. 80% of my working hours will be focusing on the main terminal.

Around March, 1990 I was having strange giddiness occasionally in the office or while driving. Each time giddiness came would normally lasted for a few seconds.

Eye specialist, physician and ENT specialist from General Hospital checked me but couldn't actually explained the cause. I remember the last specialist who saw me was ENT specialist who prescribed some vitamin B complex and medicine for giddiness and fixed my next appointment in three month time.

Well, I didn't take the medication at all. This was because nobody can tell me exactlly what happened to me.

My caring wife was worried about my condition and suggested why not stop taking meat and go for vegetarian diet. I was a great meat eater and taking vegetarian food was my last option.

.However, I was so busy at my work and my life could be at risk if giddiness came while driving. I finally decided to give a trial taking vegetarian food. For a start , my wife gradually reduced cooking meat at home the first month and second month onwards we were on full vegetarian meal.

Surprisingly, two months later, my strange giddiness was gone just before my next appointment. As a result, I didn't go for my appointment with doctor. While I was happy and thankful for my wife's suggestion and my decision to opt for vegetarian diet, I was more too surprised to learn that my big problem with internal piles or haemorrhoids for the last 10 years also disappeared. It was such a big relief for me and dissolved my suffering for so long.

MY SUFFERING FOR INTERNAL PILES OR HAEMORRHOIDS

It started around 1980 . At the beginning, I found drops of blood each time after passing motion. I did not take it seriously and as time passed ,bleeding during passing motion was becoming more serious. I sought advice from medical doctor and advice given were as follow:-

1. Go for Surgery or

2. Avoid curries, hot and spicy food,

3. No fried food,

4. Drinking more water and eat plenty of vegetables to avoid constipation.

I made the decision not to go for surgery after learning the experience from my close friend who had the surgery at district hospital in late seventies and remained in hospital for weeks. Of course, the advancement of medical science today could be much different and surgery should be easier and less complications.

Besides, I had no problem in constipation and didn't face any discomfort toilet habits every morning. To stop taking curries, spicy and fried food were not my choice. My condition got worse and at least 5 days a week my toilet bowl was painted red.

One day, my Singaporean brother brought me to see a Chinese Sinseh who was suppose to be specialised in treating piles or Haemorrhoids. His method was to use v-shape apparatus and tied the internal piles which would dropped off after few days. Yes, it was alright for few months. Unfortunately, my internal piles came back and I was fed up and didn't bother to care for it for years until early 1990 when I changed my diet to vegetarian food.

Since 1990, my strange giddiness and Piles or Haemorrhoids said good-bye to me, I made my firm decision never to turn back eating my former favourite menu. From then on , many of my close friends already called me GRASS EATER.

.

So far , I am okay today and remain a vegetarian.

If you are having the same problem of Piles or Haemorrhoids, try avoid taking meat and take a lot of fruits and all types of vegetables for at least 2 months. I am sure you will be okay. Best of health to all of you and kindly inform all your friends and relatives who are facing the same problem.

INCREDIBLE ONE-EYE PROTECTOR

One day in December, 2009 a young man aged 20+ walked in to a monastery called Upper Gonpa at Bomdila (in West kameng District , State of Arunachal Pradesh, North-East of India). During that time, there were 3 monks at Upper Gonpa met him and wondering about the nervous look of that uninvited guest.

The young man told the monks he wanted to confess about his wrong-doing. Without hesitation, he told them that he had taken cash amounting to about Rupees 700 from monastery donation box ten days ago. He regretted very much and coming to return the cash . He asked for forgiveness for stealing the cash. The monks were surprised and curious why he realised his wrong-doing all of a sudden.

The young man looked pale and informed the monks that ONE-EYE MAN has been coming to his residence during day and night to bother him. The man looked very fierce and warned him to return the cash to Upper Gonpa (monastery). He was so frightened and couldn't stand the constant appearance of that ONE-EYE MAN who very often kicked him too.

According to the explanations of Dr.Geshe Ngawang Thupten, right hand man of Tsona Gontse Rinpoche, that ONE-EYE MAN is a deity protector of Rinpoche and his name is Chenchigma.

WELL, I AM SURE WE WILL BE PROTECTED IF WE DO GOOD ALWAYS.

BE HAPPY WHEN YOU ARE SICK

One day in middle of November, 2009, I was having a serious food poisoning started from 8 pm. I was stubborn and refused to see any medical doctor.I took a big cup of fresh coconut water thinking that it was a minor diarrhea and it should recover very soon.

I was totally wrong and ran to toilet more than 30 times from 8 pm to 11.30 pm. It was the worst diarrhea I have ever had in my life and rushed to clinic for treatment.

For 2 days, I could have run to the toilet more than 50 times. However, the diarrhea stop the third day and I was diagnosed to have suffered dehydration and couldn't sit up at all. I was advised by doctor to rest and drink 100 plus in addition to other medication prescribed as well.

While I was unhappy resting at home ,feeling very weak and couldn't do anything , a dharma teaching given by one Taiwanese monk many years ago came to mind :-

" Every action there is reaction. If you plant a fruit tree, you get fruits one day. Whatever you are suffering now is due to bad karma committed in your previous life. So when are sick in bed, don't let it affect your mood, be happy and relax. This is because you are in the process of paying back or getting rid of your bad karma."
